Mill Association
The mill association was set up to restore and maintain the mill, and make it into a vibrant space for the local community and tourists. They welcome volunteers in all capacities - you can give ideas, work in the restoration group or merely give encouragement. You can get involved wherever you are. We welcome members from across the world!
The Møllelaug
The Møllelaug (mill association), established in 2021, is a community-driven association with members from Langeland, and globally. It focuses on restoring and maintaining Lindelse Mill and fostering community engagement by creating a welcoming space for events, workshops, concerts, and pop-up cafes.
Operating in both Danish and English, the association participates in annual events such as Danish National Mill Day and Langeland’s Light in the Darkness, as well as hosting community dinners, concerts and workshops. A biannual Workaway brings members together for a day of restoration, meals, music and hygge. Major achievements include rebuilding stonework, repainting the exterior, restoring the carriageway and clearing the garden. Events are shared via Facebook and email newsletters.
Join the community
The community consists of friends of the mill, people whose families are connected to the mill through their ancestors and Mill Association members.
The community aims to transform the mill into an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming space for events, workshops, concerts, and pop-up cafes. We operate in both English and Danish to accommodate our global membership. Join us in preserving this historical landmark and building a sense of community.
Mill Association membership is available for individuals, families and companies.
Donations are appreciated to support our ongoing restoration efforts around the mill (note that donations and mill accounts cover the mill and stable ruins, while the house restoration is a private endevour of the Campbell family).
Stay connected through our Facebook group and email newsletter for updates on restoration progress, events and activities.
Things that
matter for us
Community engagement is crucial - the mill association wants to foster a vibrant, supporting, engaged community around the mill. This includes a wider group fostered through social media.
Preserving cultural heritage - a cornerstone of the mill association's creation was the desire to restore the mill to its former glory.
Environmental concerns in architecture impact design and implementation strategies - a focus on preserving natural resources, energy conservation, careful waste management, creating healthy indoor environments. That is what the mill association strives for, and these concerns are particularly important in the Stedet Tæller X project.
